Kelly, spreading HOPE for William

Ambassador Kelly Friedrich, fundraising in memory of William James

“William James is my first child. He was born still in April of 2021. We had a normal pregnancy and he was healthy in every way. I had a normal growth scan at 35+2 and he was looking great. By 35+5 he was gone. He was born on April 28, 2021 at 12:45pm. He weighed 6lbs, 2oz. His cause of death was listed as unknown but noted that his placenta was very small. We met with Dr. Kliman who analyzed Will’s placenta and found it to be in the 0.3% for his weight. I will never stop advocating for pregnant people to get to know their baby’s normal movement pattern and to speak up if anything changes and for providers to measure the placenta. Will’s death was preventable. If his placenta had been measured during our pregnancy he would likely still be here. I work to make Will proud everyday and to keep his memory alive. I don’t want any more families to leave the hospital with a box instead of a baby.”
