RTZ Hope at the National Funeral Directors Association Conference
Return to Zero: Hope was honored to be represented by Kristin James and Jill Kottmeir at the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) Annual Convention in Chicago.
Kristin and Jill participated in a Conversation Café titled “Caring for Families Following the Sudden, Unexpected Death of a Child,” bringing together bereaved parents, funeral professionals, and community partners for an open and heartfelt dialogue about compassionate care after the loss of a baby or child.
The session explored the unique dynamics of sudden loss, the importance of collaboration among coroners, medical providers, schools, and community organizations, and strategies for sustaining professional well-being while working in emotionally charged circumstances.
We’re grateful to the Funeral Service Foundation for sponsoring this meaningful conversation, and to our partners at Grief Care Network for their shared commitment to supporting families through compassionate, skillful care.

Together, we continue creating spaces of understanding, collaboration, and hope for families navigating the unimaginable.
