Taylor, Spreading HOPE for Tomorrow Cosmic

Taylor Barnes, sharing her story in memory of Tomorrow Cosmic

“I am a mom to a living son who is two-and-a-half; and I recently had a miscarriage this October at nearly 7 weeks, and found out at my first ultrasound appointment.

I was due in May, the same month my son was born. Our baby passed in October, which is my husband’s birth month and I found out I was expecting in September, my own birth month. In this way it feels like our little one who was on the way touched each of us with her little spark of life 🤍

We named our little one Tomorrow Cosmic, to honor and remember her existence and the time I carried her with joy and excitement. We held a memorial ceremony at our home exactly one month following our positive pregnancy test. All of the days following our ultrasound appointment were bright and sunny, a reminder that the sun rises again - and “will come out tomorrow.”

The name “Tomorrow” is a special remembrance: one vowel, “o” times 3 - like a hug for each of the 3 living members of our family, a double “r” to reflect and remember, “w” and “m” for the elegance and symmetry of life, above and below, and a T to carry both my (Taylor) and my husband’s (Tatum) first initial.

I recently learned of the song “Golden Slumber,” which feels like it was given to me in this timing to celebrate our baby’s short and sweet life. Now, the last of the goldenrod grays to seed as she rests in peace.

We love you, 🤎

Tomorrow Cosmic Barnes! 💫”

October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month.
Our HOPEtober annual event honors all losses on the journey to parenthood.

Even though so many of us have experienced pregnancy or infant loss, or know someone who has, it is a loss that exists in the shadows. As bereaved parents, we feel isolated and alone. But together, we can shine a light on pregnancy and infant loss, helping others to live a life that holds both grief and joy.

HOPEtober Luminaries partner with us during the month of October to be an advocate and ambassador in spreading awareness and shining a light on pregnancy and infant loss. By sharing our stories we’re bringing awareness to pregnancy and infant loss, as well as the resources and support that exist through Return to Zero: Hope. As a nonprofit, raising awareness and funds are essential to our cause and support programs.

We'd be grateful if you you would consider making a contribution to RTZ HOPE. Your gift ensures that other parents who endure loss on their journey to parenthood have the support, resources, and community they need in order to navigate life after loss.

This year our goal is to raise $75,000 during the month of October so that we can continue spread hope and healing by providing resources and support to grieving families and their care providers.

Thank you for helping to shatter the silence around pregnancy & infant loss.
