Jakki, Spreading HOPE for Hudson

Ambassador Jakki Guistolisi, fundraising in memory of hudson

“Hudson was born 12 weeks prematurely, and died suddenly at six weeks old due to NICU complications. We always say that Hudson changed our lives for the better, even though his time here was short. Hudson made me a better mother to our rainbow baby, a better friend and a better advocate. While our memories with him are limited due to his medical complexity, I enjoyed spending hours and hours reading to him each day, which I cherish so much. We stay connected to Hudson and continue to honor him by talking about him in our home daily, sharing pieces of him with his brother and our families and celebrating his birthday each year in a special way.

RTZ has given me an outlet for my grief by allowing me to provide support to others also experiencing loss in a way that is comfortable for me. RTZ is such an important resource for families experiencing loss in that there are so many different programs and opportunities available. It is a welcoming environment for all, regardless of your loss or the time that has passed since.”

Pregnancy and infant loss is an unique type of loss, leaving the grievers to feel isolated and unsure of how to move forward. We'd be grateful if you you would consider making a contribution to Jakki’s fundraiser in honor of Hudson. Your gift ensures that other parents who endure loss on their journey to parenthood have the support, resources, and community they need in order to navigate life after loss.

With your support, here’s what we were able to accomplish during 2022 (2022 Annual Report):

  • Fifty percent of support group participants received financial support to ensure that all parents have access to services.

  • Enhanced outreach to and created support services for Black, Indigenous, and other Communities of Color as a response to the alarming rate of preterm births and stillbirths caused by racial disparities in perinatal and infant health.

  • Offered 50 different support group programs (virtual workshops, virtual support groups, and in-person retreats) to our community of bereaved families.

  • Supplied our unique perinatal bereavement guides to 400 hospitals and providers to assist in caring for grieving families.

  • Hosted 10 perinatal bereavement education webinars to parents and providers.

  • Created community and spread awareness about pregnancy and infant loss through social media.
