Community Conversations - Pregnancy After Loss: Sharing The Journey

A 60-minute virtual panel: Pregnancy After Loss: Sharing the Journey will be a discussion on the complex and deeply personal journey of Pregnancy After Loss (PAL). Our panelists will share their unique experiences of navigating pregnancy after loss — holding space for both hope and fear, joy and uncertainty — while moving forward after grief.

Pregnancy After Loss can be an emotional and layered experience. It often brings a mix of cautious optimism, anxiety, and reflection, as parents carry both love for the baby they lost and hope for the baby they are expecting. For many, this journey includes navigating triggers, redefining expectations, and learning to attempt to trust their bodies and emotions again.

Join us for a compassionate community conversation exploring how individuals experience and cope with pregnancy after loss. Our panelists will share personal reflections and insights on:

  • Navigating the emotional complexity of being pregnant after loss

  • Coping with anxiety, fear, and uncertainty throughout pregnancy

  • Honoring their loss experience while preparing for another life

  • Managing relationships with family, friends, and medical providers

  • Setting boundaries and advocating for emotional and physical needs

  • Finding support, connection, and moments of hope along the way

Guided by our facilitator, Lindsay Henke, this conversation offers a supportive space to reflect, learn, and feel less alone. Whether you are currently pregnant after loss, considering trying again, or supporting someone on this journey, this event invites you to connect with others who understand the delicate balance of grief and hope.

Through storytelling and shared experiences, we aim to reduce the stigma surrounding pregnancy and infant loss, while bringing visibility to the unique challenges of pregnancy after loss. This special panel, made up of those who have experienced loss and are navigating or have navigated pregnancy again, will speak openly about their journeys.

Attendees will watch the panel discussion with an opportunity to ask questions to panelists at the end.

  • Our goal for our Community Conversations is to give a voice to the grieving and break the silence and stigmas that exist in the pregnancy and infant loss community. We want our audience to feel less alone by hearing other voices in the community sharing similar stories to their own. We also want to provide helpful resources and tools that encourage overall holistic healing for those grieving.

  • Erin is excited to be working with RTZ HOPE to help fund the work through grant writing. Her journey to motherhood includes two early miscarriages, which deepens her personal commitment to the mission of the organization. Erin has extensive non-profit experience including leading storytelling efforts for Maternal Mental Health NOW, and workforce development efforts for community health centers throughout Los Angeles County. Prior to that, she was a middle school and high school English teacher. Currently, Erin is also a documentary storytelling family photographer specializing in birth stories, including those of stillbirth and loss. She lives with her husband, their two living children, and an assortment of farm animals in Cherry Valley, CA.

  • N’keya Peters-Camille is a Brooklyn-based Social Worker and Grief Educator who helps others find their breath again through clinical support and somatic healing. Her work is deeply rooted in her own journey through pregnancy loss, fertility challenges, and the death of her beloved mother, Hope, As a published author and certified Grief Yoga facilitator, N'Keya blends movement, breath, and sound to bridge the gap between mind and body—helping participants carry their loved ones' legacies forward with resilience and grace. A former RTZ (Return to Zero) community member, she is a married mom of three—including one angel baby—who personally finds solace in running and movement to heal. Alongside her professional work,N’Keya volunteers with E-Motion, facilitating 8-week grief movement groups in Brooklyn. She is dedicated to bringing these transformative tools to her community, ensuring no one has to grieve alone.

Stephanie Schick is a curriculum developer and former elementary school teacher who lives in Michigan with her husband and their three children; two sons, ages 9 and 5, and their 3 month old baby girl. After experiencing six miscarriages over ten years, Stephanie’s journey was profoundly shaped by the stillbirth of her daughter, Madelyn Rose, in October 2024. Through her grief, she found strength in the support of her community and now feels called to offer that same compassion to others walking a similar path. Stephanie believes deeply in the power of connection, storytelling, and community to help families feel less alone in their grief and is passionate about creating spaces where grieving families feel seen, supported, and understood.
