Awareness & Support

1st Breath - Provides education, advocacy, and public awareness of stillbirth in addition to assisting families and professionals dealing with the death of a baby.

Cuddle Cot Initiative  - An in-room cooling unit that is the size of a small humidifier disguised inside of a Moses basket. Research has proven having a unit available to parents while they are in the hospital encourages families to spend time with their baby. 

First Candle - Formed as a merger of several regional SIDS prevention and research organizations, First Candle's mission is now expanded to include stillbirth as well as other sudden, unexpected infant deaths. The organization aims to fund research and public campaigns to help every baby reach their first birthday.

Go Pink and Blue - International pregnancy and infant loss awareness campaign created to invite the world to support what used to be a silent topic.

Loving Tanner - Loving Tanner is a 501(c)3 charitable, non-profit that exists to support and advocate for families suffering pregnancy and infant loss. We work to educate the public and break the stigma associated with pregnancy and infant loss. Our organization is part of the initiative to have a Cuddle Cot placed in every hospital. We offer care boxes, peer support, certificates of life, and remembrance items all free of charge.

Pregnancy Loss Healing - Resources and blog devoted to healing after pregnancy loss and pregnancy after loss.

Purposeful Gift - Increases awareness about neonatal organ, eye, tissue, and whole body donation and supporting families who are considering donation as an option.

Samuel's Lullaby - Creates baskets of comfort and hope for mommies who have lost their babies (FREE). 

Share Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support - National organization serving 29 states. Offering support services to mothers, families, and professional support and education during and after the loss of a baby.

QUILT - Provides bereavement support families who have suffered loss of a baby from conception to age two.


Education & Training

Baby Loss Family Advisors - Teach, train, and assist Loss Advisors/Loss Doulas to offer compassionate, informed support to families facing the loss of a baby in miscarriage, stillbirth, or other infant death.

Resolve Through Sharing (RTS) - Organization that provides bereavement training to health care professionals working at hospitals in the form of evidence based courses, consultation services and support material.   

Stillbirthday - Offers Bereavement Doula training.

 

Financial Assistance

Angel Names Association - Financial assistance for autopsy, funeral, cemetery, monument expenses, and counseling services for families of stillborn children in all 50 states; funding for stillbirth research.

The Caleb Andrew Longfield Foundation (The CAL Foundation) - Provides financial assisitance in paying medical bills related to the birth of the devastating loss of a stillbirth

The Colette Louise Tisdahl Foundation provides financial assistance to families in crisis due to high-risk and complicated pregnancies, premature birth and NICU stays, and loss.

The Fletcher Foundation - Specializes in paying hospital bills from miscarriage or stillbirth.

Friends of Mattie - Gives grants to families who have experienced financial strain due to the loss of a child.

Hayden's Helping Hands - Provides financial assistance for families who have delivered a stillborn baby by paying up to $1,000 in delivery bills. They are able to support families in Washington State and Oregon

Kelly Ryan Foundation - Provides financial assistance for burial costs. 

TEARS Foundation - Non-profit organization that seeks to compassionately assist bereaved parents with the financial expenses they face in making final arrangements for their precious baby who has died. TEARS also offers support groups and peer companion program in select states.

 

Membership for Providers

Pregnancy Loss and Infant Death Alliance (PLIDA) - Aims to provide both a formal network and a unified international presence to increase awareness and education focused on the emotional experiences and needs of bereaved families. PLIDA also organizes the biennial International Perinatal Bereavement Conference. 


Photography

Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep - Bereavement photography foundation that trains, educates, and mobilizes professional quality photographers to provide beautiful heirloom portraits to families facing the untimely death of an infant.

 

Prevention

Count the Kicks - Aims to reduce preventable stillbirths by teaching expectant parents the importance of, and method for, self-monitoring and tracking babies' daily movements during the third trimester.

PUSH Pregnancy - Empowers every expectant family with the equitable, evidenced-based medical care and education they need to advocate for a healthy pregnancy, giving parents and babies the best possible chance to make it home safely together.

Star Legacy Foundation - Minnesota based not-for-profit dedicated to stillbirth research and education including events, funding research, and advocating education and awareness of the stillbirth and infant loss community. The foundation also organizes outreach and support services for families, local support groups, and support and education for medical and mental health professionals.

 

Research

The Global Alliance to Prevent Prematurity and Stillbirth (GAPPS) - An initiative out of Seattle Children’s Hospital leading a collaborative, global effort to increase awareness and accelerate innovative research and interventions that will improve maternal, newborn, and child health outcomes around the world.

 

Special Situations

Amniotic Fluid Embolism Foundation - Spurs research, raises public awareness and provides support for those whose lives have been touched by the often-fatal maternal health complication known as amniotic fluid embolism (AFE).

Center for Loss in Multiple Births (CLIMB) - Provides parent-to-parent support for those who have experienced the death of one or more of our twins or higher multiple birth children at any time from conception through birth, infancy and early childhood.

London Is The Reason - Supporting surrogate mothers and intended parents through the loss of a baby during pregnancy.

Perinatal Hospice and Palliative Care - Provides information and support for parents who receive a prenatal diagnosis that indicates your baby likely will die before or after birth.

Pregnancy After Loss Support - Dedicated to helping mothers choose hope over fear while nurturing grief during a pregnancy after a previous loss.

RESOLVE - US National Infertility Association works to improve the lives of men and women living with infertility.

Still Mothers - Provides support and resources for families who have experienced the death of a baby (ies) and are living without a child to raise.

Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome Foundation - Provides immediate and lifesaving educational, emotional, and financial support to families, medical professionals, and other caregivers before, during, and after a diagnosis of twin to twin transfusion syndrome.

Ending a Wanted Pregnancy - Provides grief support after pregnancy termination for medical reasons, whether your decision was based on a poor prenatal diagnosis or maternal health problems.
